If you are interested in designing energy efficient buildings a Certificate in Energy Efficient Building Design is the certificate for you. You will focus on energy usage and efficiency technologies for commercial buildings by taking 3 courses covering Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning, Industrial Energy Management, Energy Markets and Contracting and Design of Energy Efficient Buildings.

The field of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility is growing. Become a part of Chicago’s “built environment” design industry.

 

Designed for working professionals all classes begin at 6 PM on the UIC campus - an easy commute from downtown or the suburbs. Courses are classroom taught where you benefit from exchanging ideas with other working professionals. There is no on-line component.

You will need a BS degree in an engineering discipline, mathematics, computer science, or physics. You don’t have to be an engineer, but you do need to have a strong background in math or science.

As a student in the in Energy Efficient Building Design Certificate program you will  be learning from experts with professional experience in their fields. Courses are taught by the Master of Energy Engineering faculty who have expertise in multiple energy disciplines. Meet them here.

Upon completing your Certificates you are eligible to continue on into the Master of Energy Engineering program. Your certificate courses will be applied toward your Master’s degree. You will be half way toward earning a Master’s degree.
